Through funding from the West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and coordination with Volunteer West Virginia, ReadyWV is a communications campaign and an online tool that helps West Virginians know what to do before, during, and after an emergency.
Launched in February 2003, Ready is a National public service campaign designed to educate and empower the American people to prepare for, respond to and mitigate emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters. The goal of the campaign is to promote preparedness through public involvement.
For 38 years, FEMA's mission remains: to lead America to prepare for, prevent, respond to and recover from disasters with a vision of "A Nation Prepared."
